Digital Wave research- Gareth Pugh

The designer I have decided to focus on is Gareth Pugh, who's signature style is all about caged construction and contoured lines, he also uses subtle colours such as black, grey and white. I believe that the structured jackets would look great transformed into a sportswear jacket, as this is the look I am going for. Therefore for these reasons I believe that he is the perfect designer to focus on and who's work I could try and emulate.
Digital Wave research- my theme

I have decided to focus on the caged construction and contour themes of the Digital Wave topic. I like the clean cuts and minimalistic approach to this theme, which is what I would hope to emulate in my own work. I will be using subtle colours such as black, white, grey, park purple and dark pink in my designs, however despite not choosing to use the bright colours associated with digital wave, I will use the caged construction and contoured lines to bring it back to the main topic of digital wave.
Digital Wave research

These Pinterest boards showcase the different themes that are associated with Digital Wave, this would include; caged construction, neon, glitch, digital ombre, blinding pairings, back from the future, post-internet art, sensory colour and industrial metallics. Brands and designers than frequently cam up were sports brands such as; Adidas, Sweaty Betty and Nike, and designers such as Alexander Wang, Stella McCartney (for Adidas) and Gareth Pugh. I will use this for inspiration for my theme.
